BSS IT Mission is an authorized franchisee of Centre for taxation studies, an autonomous institution of Government of Kerala, to conduct Post graduate Diploma in Taxation (PGDT) and Diploma in Sales Taxation (DST)
The centre for taxation Studies is autonomous institution formed by the Government of Kerala with the objective of Research, Training, Consultuncy and publication in the area of Public Finance and Taxation. The rationale and object of the establishment of the centre is precisely defined by the Government of Kerala in GO (MS)-46/91/TD/dated 19-03-1991.
The center conducts extensive training program round the year to officials of the Commercial Taxes Department. The center also been conducting Post graduate Diploma in Taxation (PGDT) and Diploma in Sales Taxation (DST) for general public.
The PGDT course enables the students to become registered sales tax practitioners as per rule 97(3) (e) of the Value Added Tax Rules, 2005 and rules 60(2) (e) of the Kerala General Sales Tax Rules, 1963.Hence this course equips the students to become a professional.
The DST course aims at equipping traders, small/medium entrepreneurs’, manufacturers, and job seekers with basic, practical knowledge in the area of Sales Taxation and accounting. As per the explanation to section 86(1) of Kerala Value Added Tax Act,2003 any part time employee holding Diploma in Sales Taxation issued by the Center of Taxation Studies can appear before any authority other than High Court.
